As the Auctioneer, Darryl works very closely with salespeople, owners, and buyers to ensure that everyone is fully prepared come Auction Day.
Every auction that Darryl leads, of which there have been thousands, he brings Real Estate expertise to the floor. As a full-time auctioneer, he describes himself as a “professional negotiator.” Ultimately, this involves working to get people more money. As a trusted auctioneer, he works to achieve the best possible outcome for all parties involved.
Darryl can take on a number of roles including mentoring, training to bring everything together for our owners and buyers.
Planner
He ensures that everything is well prepared and ready for auction day. From having the owners anticipating a sale, to the paperwork being done, the auction room set up, and buyers looked after, Darryl’s systems ensure that everyone is ready to go. He believes that it’s about “having the right structure, and the right people in the right positions to add value and strength to your business.”
Strategist
With a strategic mindset, Darryl works to be realistic and achieve success, while also aiming to exceed owners expectations. During the reserve set, his extensive knowledge helps to ensure that the advice given is the advice to be trusted. Ultimately, he works with owners to ensure they are happy and relaxed about the auction outcome and completely trusting the process.
Negotiator
One of Darryl’s biggest strengths is his negotiating skills. This is used to get deals together off the floor, where the auction is paused and taken into the side rooms with the key parties. His specialist skill set sees him working between meeting vendors' expectations and buyers’ willingness, achieving a result that all parties are satisfied with.
Relationship Builder
In an industry that survives on trust, this is a critical aspect of his role. This starts with the real estate salespeople, they know that he will finish off their hard work and trust him to get the best result he can.
With the owners, this is developed from initial meetings prior to the property being listed, right the way through the campaign.
With the buyers, this comes from his weekly auction information buyers’ evenings, to his support and guidance in the room on auction day.
